Fake Polaroid fun

Normally I'm not to fond of digitally altering images (partly because I suck at it), but sometime during the summer I did turn some images into Polaroid style pics, and I really liked how they turned out.
These shots are from a trip to the Swayholland shapers meeting in Wijk aan Zee. For some reason they have these crazy rockets lying around on the beach over there.

Next is a handplane that I made this summer. For this I was thankfully inspired by Cyrus Sutton of Korduroy.tv. It's a lot of fun building this kinda stuff. And even more fun to go and test-drive your own creations!

And then for something completely different, these smokin' bad boys. Two of my best friends shot from my window when they had to get their fix. I really love this shot. Oh and Joost, congrats on quitting smoking since then!

So I think the digital Pola effect in these shots is pretty nice, but really got to get me some real Polaroid film again sometime soon.

I'm off to bed now. That way it will be tomorrow sooner :-)  I'm really looking forward to tomorrow night when "Where The Wild Things Are" (which I post about earlier) finally premieres in The Netherlands!

Behind the scenes

I saw this behind the scenes photo in Dazed and Confused magazine who have a "Where the wild things are" special out. I really can't wait till the movie shows here in the Netherlands.

For those of you not in the know, its a movie based on a children's book directed by Spike Jonze. And I am way beyond anxious.

This photo didn't help. Seriously, how can someone look this cool directing a shot that looks this cool, combining in a behind the scenes image that looks just this freakin amazing. I love it. And now I wanna see the movie even more.

I came across a contest called "Where the wild things ought to be" on http://weloveyouso.com. The idea was to create an image with the characters of WTWA in an environment where they ought to be. There were some pretty cool entries like these:
