Worship Paris

Going to visit Paris again soon. And I'm really looking forward to it.
It's always so nice to travel to where the locals worship tourists.

The wait

Pat, eyes fixed on the ocean, waiting for a sign of new swell approaching,
and mainly just being really bored.

Work, music and Paris

And in that sequence it will be supposedly.
Tomorrow first work, then I will visit a concert. And Friday morning off to Paris with my girl!

Sophisticated surfer

Only in Biarritz will you find a trenchcoat, loafers and open face helmet discarded on a wall cause the owner went for a surf.

Vasa museet

When in Stockholm earlier this year I visited the Vasa museum. Didn't exactly know what to expect except for some sunken boat that got salvaged. Turns out it was a complete medieval warship that was for 99% intact! Really cool museum. If you are in Stockholm go there (if you surf or drink coffee go here as well).

The Vasa

One of the original ornaments from the ship. The 'brackish' water conserved the vessel brilliantly.

Don't go on a boat that is built wrong or you might end up like this member of the Vasa crew

Random mural in the museum. Darn mermaids.

Diver suit of the salvagers

Salvage crew (picture of picture in museum). I love this photo. Just look at that bunch.

Summertime

I can't count the summer-days and evenings I've spent at my local bmx-track. While developing other interests as well over the last few years track-time got less.
But I definitely enjoy it every-time I make it there though. Especially now the weather is getting better. BMX, friends, some beers and bbq. Bring on the summer!

Although the heavy blur, I like this shot.
Guys going head-to-head with such different styles over the first dubs. I want to shoot more bmx in the future, but it's kinda hard to put down my bike when I'm out there.

My trusty steed. S&M .38 special sans paint.

MadNes festival

Finally developed and scanned the images from MadNes 2010. It's a surf, skate and music festival on a island off the Dutch coast, and it was great! Here's a short impression:

There was skating

Somebody wrecked the miniramp

There were surflessons

Sadly the waves were this high

There was some kind of dans/yoga lesson

There were Indo boards (and youngsters that rip!)

There were people washing their hair before visiting the hairdresser in attendance

There was music on several stages including a floating stage!

There was one band that got it. More punk, less ska!!!

By far the best band I saw. The Quaint.

Surfrider foundation handed out prizes after the beach clean-up contest.

There was a ferris wheel!

And last but certainly not least, there were drinks

Freakin great festival. I'm blocking my agenda for next year.

Scheef

Some weeks ago. Sunny, but just before the summer crowds.
